Norman Croucher
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Norman Croucher is a mountain climber who, despite being a double amputee with two prosthetic legs below the knee, set out to climb Cho Oyu, one of the world's 14 mountains which exceed 8,000 metres.
He has climbed many other mountains, which are listed on his official website
He has been an inspiration for his generation and next generations of disabled people, by showing that there is no limitation on human passion and imagination, and there is no reason for dreams not to come true.
There is a popular misconception that he climbed Mt. Everest, as stated in the early episode "Walkabout" of the TV series Lost. This is incorrect.
