Norman Allan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Norman Thomas William Allan (Lithgow, New South Wales, 3 June 1909 - Sydney, 28 January 1977) was the Commissioner of the New South Wales Police, from 1962 to 1972. The year 1962 was significant in the history of the organisation as it was the 100th anniversary of its formation under the then present organisational structure. Known unofficially as "Norman the Foreman", Allan was accused by whistleblowing policeman Phillip Arantz of systematically falsifying crime statistics.
