this is an expanded universe map of middle earth? -- Astrokey44|talk 23:40, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Yes it is, I just thought the middle earth maps could use some improving... btw, all the information on this map was indeed in his books, such as Unfinished Tales and the Silmarillion. K-UNIT 03:53, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
THIS IS NOT A GOOD EXPANDED UNIVERSE MAP OF MIDDLE-EARTH. This is the map that one single rpg which I've never heard of felt like using. I mean, one from the online rpg would make more sense than this--->this is a small fraction trying to impose their own version on this! There is no definative Expanded Universe for LOTR; ***THIS IMAGE SHOULD BE REMOVED****--130.64.153.83 04:53, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the anonymous rant. That was helpful... If anybody knows of any better maps then I'd love to see them. K-UNIT 05:58, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
This is a very nice map but most of the added detail is from the creator rather than Tolkien. Personally I don't see any problem with this as long as it is always clearly labled as "expanded universe" / "non-canonical". Also is there a real copyright issue? The website has a general copyright notice but the author seems also to be the uploader who indicated a PD declaration. Having looked into the matter a bit more closely the copyright issue is indeed real. Eluchil404 02:40, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
