Nomad Workers

Modern office workers, IT specialists, accountants, lawyers, journalists and other professionals are beginning to evolve into a new class of nomadic worker. Sophisticated portable computers, wireless communication systems, mobile videoconferencing and full Internet connectivity mean that workers can be an integral part of an organisation without necessarily being physically based at a particular site. In essence, modern nomads are skilled mobile workers who follow whoever, whatever or wherever the work is. However, despite this unprecedented mobility workers are, more often than not, still required to make the occasional return to base. A concept which dovetails neatly with this is hot desking.
One man who is currently working this way is the 'Working Nomad' who is currently traveling around Southeast Asia on earnings from web sites.
