Nokomis Regional High School

Nokomis Regional High School is a secondary school located in Newport, Maine.
As of 2005, the school principal is Arnold B. Shorey. Their school mascot is the warrior, and their sports team name is "Nokomis Warriors".
According to 2004 data, of the approximately 770 students enrolled each year, 99% are Caucasian.
Nokomis Regional High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, with their most recent evaluation for accreditation taking place in 1992. Nokomis has a video communtications program known as Nokomis Warrior Broadcasting.
Nokomis is a very unique school. Student's are less stereotyped then at most schools, and in general it is a very open, caring school. Also, there are many oppurtunities at Nokomis. For example, they have drama club, key club, latin club, astronomy club, even anime club, as well as many other diverse groups. However, one of the most prestigious groups at Nokomis are the well known honors science class and taxidermy class. Taught by Howard Whitten, both classesd are quite famous, and they recieve a great amount of press. The honors science class has participated in many different events, and they now are working on their non profit organization known as MADS.
