Users of this template are expected to know WP:HIDE and {{hide}}, it's a severe violation of WySiWyG, e.g. this sentence has three links, transported to all readers, although most will see only two links.

If the desired effect can be achieved with conditionals, or in other words by the Wiki server, don't use this template. It's for rare conditions like Special:Upload removed from the classic skin, where inserting a direct link on many pages would be redundant and annoying for most users, but is important for others.

The template is merely a shorthand for

<span style="display: none">text</span>

While it's of course possible to {{ subst:Nocss|wikitext }} this might a bad idea, the backlinks allow to track pages with hidden text.
