Nobody Rides For Free was a hit single by American glam metal band Ratt. It was originally taken from the Point Break soundtrack.
Although the song was a hit, many die-hard Ratt fans do not consider it to be one of the band's biggest hits since the song was written primarily by the credited songwriter, Steve Caton, although members Stephen Pearcy, Warren DeMartini, and Juan Croucier helped Caton in the songwriting process. This was Ratt's first single recorded without guitarist Robbin Crosby who left the band the year before due to a drug addiction. He died in 2002. The song was played during the ending credits of Point Break.
Because of the grunge explosion that occured during the song's release the song had very little MTV and radio play.

[edit] Music Video
The music video for the song sees the band play on a beach, intercut with some clips from the 1991 action-thriller Point Break. Noticeably missing was Robbin Crosby, who had exited the band during the previous year. The new look and sound sported by Ratt with this video exhibits a band that had matured considerably. Ratt fell out of favor with the ever trendy MTV and would never be able to replicate the magic of their older days.
