[edit] Welcome!
Hi NoahB, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!
- Editing tutorial, learn to have fun with Wikipedia.
- Picture tutorial, instructions on uploading images.
- How to write a great article, to make it an featured article status.
- Manual of Style, how articles should be written.
Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :
Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

[edit] Re: New user asking for help
Hi Noah,
Problem fixed. :) Also, you would also be pleased to know that you can change the page to an earlier version yourself - through reversion. (except deletions)
If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me again. ;)

[edit] You may have a problem with your browser
Your edit to Blind musicians[1] replaced Cyrillic text with question marks. You may not have intended to do that. What browser are you using? Susvolans (pigs can fly) 1 July 2005 11:54 (UTC)
- Especially, please make sure that your browser's character encoding is set to "Unicode" or "UTF-8" or "Automatic" or "Default" or something like that. (I suspect you are forcing your browser into some other format, which presumably works really fine for you otherwise. Not here, though.) If you use an external editor, you need to do the same there. Hope this helps! Arbor 4 July 2005 10:03 (UTC)
[edit] Tomato
Hi Noah - you might want to check over tomato and talk:tomato, I've added and changed a few bits; I agree with most of your additions, my changes to them are mostly minor copyediting (stripping out superfluous carriage returns and spaces!), but I've added details of the nightshade relationship at the talk page, which I think should go back in on the main page (I've not reinstated them there yet) - MPF 5 July 2005 20:12 (UTC)
[edit] On Malcolm and Lincoln
You're dead wrong about Haj Malik El Shabaaz. Calling Malcolm X a black supremacist would be an error, period. At no point in his life was he ever one. And there is nothing the man ever said or did that would lead any rational individual to believe such a thing. There is absolutely no comparison between Malcolm and Lincoln. (Damn. White people!) The same, of course, cannot be said of Lincoln, and there is no evidence he ever changed fundamentally in that regard. I don't feel there is any need whatsoever to qualify the categorization of Lincoln as a white supremacist; he clearly was one -- and, as far as the historic record indicates, remained so until his death. deeceevoice 8 July 2005 08:30 (UTC)
Then, perhaps you should read Malcolm's autobiography again, because -- again -- there is nothing he ever said that reasonably could be construed as supremacist. Your remarks represent a complete misreading of the man's life and work. Lincoln, on the other hand, is a different story. The change in his position on the role of black troops did in no way indicate that Lincoln ever changed his basic assumptions about blacks -- that we were inherently inferior and, as a result, deserved to occupy an inferior station relative to whites. He never even hinted at such. Giving black troops their due in light of their record of exemplary military service was a no-brainer. Besides, why not use blacks as cannon fodder? According to the historical record, Lincoln was and remained, in no uncertain terms, a white supremacist. To suggest otherwise is pure wishful thinking/speculation. [edit] List of White supremacists
Hello Noah. Since you're the one stated in White supremacy that a list of "famous white supremacists would be too long to be in the article, I thought maybe you'd be interested in this new article I started which is called List of White supremacists. Maybe you can add a few more names to that new article. Regards, --Gramaic | Talk 04:53, 12 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Re : Nadir of race relations in the United States
Hi Noah,
I suppose you meant Nadir of race relations in the United States? Sorry, but there was no deletion record that I could find on this article. It appears that no such article was created in the first place. You can try and create the article, if it gets deleted (again or otherwise) let me know.

[edit] Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/List_of_White_supremacists
- Hi. Your VfD was linking to a non-existent article at List of White Supremacists. I changed it to List of White supremacists. --malathion talk 19:17, 15 July 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, I fixed the template link on the article itself. --malathion talk 19:39, 15 July 2005 (UTC)
- I'll go vote Delete, since people seem to want to keep the article. Thanks for putting up on VfD. Phoenix2 22:17, July 15, 2005 (UTC)
- Much appreciated for bringing the vote to my attention and for putting it up. It's a pointless article and basically one of the best examples of reverse-racism I've seen on Wiki. Jachin 13:33, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
- Hey, Noah. Thanks for the note. I did my duty. Peace 2 u. deeceevoice 02:36, 23 July 2005 (UTC)

Hi NoahB,
Your request for the image deletion has been completed. If you have any further questions or problems, feel free to drop a note on my talkpage.

[edit] Racist pudding
Can you explain to me how it is that Norman Lindsay is a racist, or even right-wing? As you asserted in The Magic Pudding. That one character in the novel uses "unmitigated jew" as an insult does not mean that the author himself is racist. Grumpyyoungman01 13:22, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- Um forget that comment, I must be tired or something. The comments should be aimed at an ip address. But if you can somehow un POV that comment and retain useful information it would be good, now that I have defamed you. Grumpyyoungman01 13:33, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Éponyme
You say you fail to understand his remark at "Nadir..."? Take a look at his (or I suppose just possibly her) User:Éponyme user page. Apparently, according to him, African Americans are "former slave subjects of the American people", not part of the American people themselves. And apparently Baptists—and clearly, in context, that means White Baptists—constitute the majority of the people he counts as American. Given that, I would say that I understand him all too well. - Jmabel | Talk 00:40, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
