IMDb profile |
No Surrender is a 1985 comedy film starring Michael Angelis and James Ellis.
This brilliant and playful (and sometimes brutal) film focusses on two Irish characters in their very different communities. One is a Protestant ex-hit man, the other a Catholic night club manager who finds himself working for a very dangerous employer. The previous manager has left a lunatic legacy: hiring out the same hall for New Year's Eve to two groups of hardline seniors, one Catholic, and one Protestant. As a coup de grace, he hires a very bizarre Elvis Costello band to perform.
Just lovely. Not to be missed by anyone interested in the Troubles or in the Northern Irish--and who retains a sense of humour.
