Vandals?

You vandalized my page - what are you doing

Do not vandalize my page again or you will get the same —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chaka* (talkcontribs).

  • I left a test notice template on your userpage due to a nonsense article you posted (an article which was subsequently deleted). This is not vandalism. If you need clarification on what is and is not vandalism, please click here. Thank you --NMChico24 00:54, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Criteria for Not getting a page deleted

So since I'm not quite understanding why you are deciding to recommend and have pages deleted

What would be the criteria for getting these pages to stay? Specifically for Kevlarlounge and Short Bus Racers

We have world records, there is video and stats to confirm this. We are know in the online racing world. We are not selling anything on our site, and promote tips and tricks, and write many FAQ's for PGR and Forza Series.

I am not understanding how any half rated band can post a page here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiny_Toy_Guns

And advertise their album list and buy page - but yet we are a community for giving advice and you find that enough to have the page removed

Would it help if we make an record a racing sounds album first? I can do that and put it online in 30 minutes if so

By the way - our videos on our site are not for sale, only for learning techniques on driving for free —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chaka* (talkcontribs).

Removed db flag

Hi - just wanted to let you know I removed the db flag on Blocked nipple ducts. The writing is pretty awful but it is a real medical condition so I don't think it qualifies for a speedy. I added a wikify and a cleanup flag as well as a stub category, so hopefully someone will tidy it up. Thanks! --Bookgrrl 03:09, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

RE: Dennis Calero

Dear sir,

As I have noted in the discussion page of my first article, Dennis Calero, I have submitted the matter to mediation. I am waiting to hear from them.

I have compared my contribution with the 12 reasons for speedy deletion and the standards for notability.

Dennis Calero is an award winning comic artist who has literally worked on hundreds of comics.

It is my first article, and I am taking time to build it slowly but well.

Please give me a chance to do so.

Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ughmonster (talkcontribs).

"Young Life (Black Wallstreet artist)

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. --Alan 21:17, 29 May 2006 (UTC)"

I'm afraid I have no idea what you mean. If the subject of your message has some bearing on the article in question, I can confindently say I've never even read anything even remotely to do with that on Wikipedia. When I do edit pages, it's generally correcting information I know to be mitaken or adding the occasional tidbit to make the article more interesting. --86.136.5.114 21:21, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Reply to your message about reposting Stick RPG 2

I did satisfy the concerns in the discussion in the discussion page on the article. I looked at the discussion, and the main point of it was that their was not enough evidence to claim that this game was even real. That is a complete falsehood, if you look at http://www.stickrpg2.com, which I have suggested several times already, you will see this game is indeed in development and is probably around half done. I am sorry to say that your message insulted me, claiming that I reposted it without a reason. Your message showed me that you did not even look at the discussion page on the article. Jewish Magazine

Hi there,

I am new to this and may have rushed into creating the article without going through the tutorial. The site is user friendly and I just went for it. Please note that I will make corrections and by no means was this done for advertising purposes. It is a free magazine and an excellent source for the younger Jewish population in Canada.

Thank you kindly for your consideration!

Hi there, I've noticed that some people are pretty quick on reporting things like you did. It's very easy to point out what is wrong, but to actually help and contribute to improve something requires an effort for which most people do not. So, will you be part of the majority or will you help out?

November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Hi NMChico24, and thanks very much for your support during my recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of 64/0/0. I am grateful for the overwhelming support I received from the community, and hope I will continue to earn your trust as I expand my participation on Wikipedia. It goes without saying that if you ever need anything and I can help, please let me know. Wait, I guess it does go with saying. ; ) --cholmes75 (chit chat) 22:02, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Shiny new buttons

Two weeks ago I couldn't even spell administratur and now I are one (in no small part thanks to your support). Now that I checked out those new buttons I realize that I can unleash mutant monsters on unsuspecting articles or summon batteries of laser guns in their defense. The move button has now acquired special powers, and there's even a feature to roll back time. With such awesome new powers at my fingertips I will try to tread lightly to avoid causing irreversible damage and getting into any wheel wars. Thanks again and let me know whenever I can be of use.

Anvil Media page deleted

It looks like you had deleted the Anvil Media page that I created as it didn't meet Wikipedia's guidelines.

Anvil has done some great charity work and I would like to add this but wanted to know if this type of content would get deleted? I would like to include much of the content that was deleted, but also include information on their charity work. Can you let me know if this is something that would get deleted?

Would I just need to create a brand new page again? Is this the right avenue to ask these types of questions? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Thanks, John jwmcphee@yahoo.com

List of Italian birds

I have removed your speedy delete tag from this article and I want to explain why. I simply do not see this as being a speedy. Minus the images, this would be a straight-forward list along the lines of several in Category:Birds of Europe. If there are doubts about the notability and suitability of this list then an AfD is the way to go so that there can be a discusssion. Please let me know if I can help, further. Drmspeedy template

I wonder if the version currently at User:Tonywalton/Drmspeedy might be an improvement. My reasoning is:

  1. I've noticed on NP patrol that often editors just remove the speedy tag(s) and add a {{hangon}} on the article. Assuming good faith perhaps an inexpert editor might think that's enough; hence my putting the procedure as two clear steps, "add a hangon without removing the speedy tag" and "make a case".
  2. As a lot of "speedyable" aticles do tend to be an editor's first (or at least very early) edit, possibly the mention of a "talk page" goes over peoples' heads, hence I've added a link to the relevant talk page in the template

The result looks like

User:Tonywalton/Drmspeedy

I've commented out the biolerplate notice and cat tag temporarily, of course.

What do you think? Tonywalton | Talk 10:03, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Minkus-centric vandalism

Hi. I notice that you expressed a concern to Chese27 (talk contribs) about the creation of an article called Hangin' With Mr. Minkus. I am certain this is a joke article, part of a pattern of vandal edits about the character Minkus from Boy Meets World on articles related to that show. So, basically, I've not been doing approvals just yet while I get this release done, so that all new new userss don't have to download a new program a few days later :) Thanks - Martinp23 12:13, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

You've been approved to use NPWatcher. When you log into the program, wait a few seconds while it queries wikipedia before screaming at your PC for crashing (unless you see an error, of course). Please give me any feature requests, bugs, etc. The watchlist feature does not work. Before you run the program, please check the changelog on the application page to see if I've made a new release. I changed the speedy tag on this article (which the author kept removing) to a prod tag, trying to assume good faith and all that. You reverted my edit with an edit summary about "new user" - was that supposed to be reverting my edit? Perel 04:21, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Responded to user's talk page. --NMChico24 04:28, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Ah - just saw your second message on my talk. I understand the concern that adding the prod is pointless; however, I've seen it work fairly well. I think there's still a lot of confusion among newbies about the whole "do not remove db templates" thing.. my normal NP patrol process for pages like this, where it's not QUITE a clear speedy, but almost, is to switch it to a prod, watchlist it, and if the author removes the prod drop a drmprod on their talk and start the afd. Most of the time I've found they leave the prod alone, perhaps it's not quite so scary? Perel 04:32, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
