[edit] Image:Araucania coa.jpg source?

Do you recall where you got this image from?

It's probably public domain, since it's so old, but we still need some kind of a source to keep the image on the Commons.

thanks, pfctdayelise (translate?) 07:41, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. Man, I searched the internet for ages trying to find it. :)
Do you know which page exactly you saw the image on? (Rather than the exact URL of the image itself)
Also this kind of information should be put on the image page itself, when you upload, even for fair use images. Which I really doubt this is. But anyway, thanks again, I'm really grateful! pfctdayelise (translate?) 03:29, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flag of the Falklands issue

Hi! I have to say that, while the two other editors should not have deleted the information on the Argentine flag, least of all calling it "vandalism" and without discussion, the watchers of the page do have some points. I have no basis to tell which version of the article is wrong. In any case, me being an Argentinian would probably be a liability if I entered the discussion. Sorry... —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 13:44, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Nk, I'd rather see some discussions in the Talk page before engaging in a revert war or protection war. I may join the discussion, but I saw none going on on the page. Sebastian Kessel Talk 16:49, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:South America

I am working on all slowly on this list: Wikipedia:WikiProject Countries/Footers feel free to assist. :)

Meanwhile mind if I revert that template?

--Cat out 12:04, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

OMG =) Of course you can change the template, but please note that some pages, like Falkland Islands, use <div class="BoxMerge"> for its templates. IMO it's better to delete all those parameters from the articles before doing any changes, but again, proceed at your own will. =) Cheers. --Nkcs 12:21, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
What exactly does boxmerge do? I haven't seen it do anything :/ --Cat out 14:06, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
The idea's from the German Wiki. It literally "merges" the templates into an only box; the problem is that all of them must follow the same layout, or at least a very similar one. IMO it gives a nice impression of professionalism, but of course it's not really necessary. --Nkcs 23:24, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm... Looks redundent to me since they "merge" either way. :) --Cat out 01:12, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps. But take a look at the websites of, e.g., University of Western Australia. It's only for beauty's sake, but c'mon, doesn't look nice? =) Cheers. PS: I've added some translations on User:Cool Cat/In many languages.... You're welcome. =) --Nkcs 04:06, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Ah! The working example!
Yes that does look nicer. I am thinking of ways to incorporate that at a broader scale.

[edit] Talk:Boston Tea Party

Howdy, I noticed that you and I seem to post in one or two articles dealing with progressive issues in political science/sociology. There's currently a debate beginning in Boston Tea Party as to whether the article should include the category [1]. It meets definitions set in the articles Terrorism and Definition of terrorism, however, there are several self-proclaimed patriots who watch BTP who refuse to recognise the fact. The simple criteria for terrorism generally seem to be intimidation or destruction of property in order to change public policy or public opinion while a state of war has not yet been declared. Some users would rather use recent acts of terrorism as a yardstick, rather than using a firm definition, and hence lose their ability to discuss matters calmly. Would you be able to pop in to the Talk page and join in the discussion? Thanks much, samwaltz 05:03, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:Cool Cat/In many languages...
