Medical geneticsI've established Template:MedGen to classify articles in the project. Please help if you have time. Thanks. NCurse work 16:21, 9 August 2006 (UTC) You helped choose this week's WP:AID winnerDraicone (talk) 11:59, 15 August 2006 (UTC) Duchenne muscular dystrophyIt is currently classified B-class by Medical genetics project. You wrote, you are interested in that. Wouldn't you like to improve the article? References, images, copy-edit... I help if needed. NCurse work 15:28, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
--nkayesmith 21:05, 2 September 2006 (UTC) You deleted a comment at Talk:Parasitic dragHi, You deleted an anon's comment at Talk:Parasitic drag. Please do not delete people's comments. The fact that his header offended you is not grounds for deleting his comment. Also, please read Do Not Bite the Newbies. If you *really* *really* wanted a PC header, rename the header - don't delete people's comments. While inappropriate talk page headers are indeed *not* considerd vandalism, deleting people's comments is. Fresheneesz 21:04, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
News Update: Medical Genetics Wikiproject article assesment
WikiDataHey, I didn't notice you left a note on my userpage till you put it on my talk page. Thanks for the offer. Its a huge undertaking, with the potential of being far bigger than wikipedia is (TeraBytewise). I would definately be willing to work with you to make this happen. I wonder if I could find any other wikipedians that would be willing to help. I won't ask more people till I know what we're getting into tho. The project would have to follow somewhat different norms than wikipedia, but we can get that worked out. Right now the issues that come to mind is verifying data (like who did the experiment when, etc), how to organize data, and how to allow users to manipulate the potentially vast amount of data WikiData could manage. Along with scientific experiments, we could also put up surveys, polls, elections, and other statistical stuff. But we can't just have one page per peice of data, so we'll have to have some sort of way to group similar experiments, or similar peices of data. Thats all i can think of now, let me know what you think. Fresheneesz 00:38, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Nehrams2020 23:10, 9 October 2006 (UTC) Be careful!Hey, I just saw you tag Eric Kriss as a db-attack, and I just wanted to let you know that the page is not an attack page. If you check the history out, you'll see that someone basically blanked the original article page. Nevertheless, I just wanted to let you know for future reference. Thanks! return msgHi. Thanks for leaving me a message answering my question. Unfortunately, you didn't say what article you were talking about. Thanks for your help;I'm still learning how things work around here. 24.131.12.228 17:37, 11 November 2006 (UTC) (Emily) Your messageI just read your message and dont think Im attacking you Im not. But I noticed you critized my Christian beliefs and say HauntedAngel conducted imself unapproprietly. So why did you inform me only and not him? Tell him he was wrong not just me? This is why I am working on my own website Christianpedia, so I dont have to worry about this unfair wenbsite. Everything about Wikipedia is a sin and totally immoral thats why I am leaving it for good. One day when I buy Wikipedia the editors will see the light and this site will also be 100% Christian. But until then I will not be editing here anyomore. 75.109.101.139 20:02, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Regarding User:68.83.220.51Apparently, this vandal doesn't appreciate your help in archiving his numerous vandalism notices. link I suggest a warning about legal action could be in action, as he threatened to report you to the FBI. I'll keep an eye on him too. Cheers, –- kungming·2 | (Talk·Contact) 04:29, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Once upon a timeOnce upon a time there was an article, it was full of mistakes, but it was good for the fans. Anyway, I restarted the article just for fun, to make it alive again.

If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 22:29, 16 November 2006 (UTC) Sting mediationQuite frankly, I have looked at the mediation page numerous times, and I am really uncertain where to place my side. The whole page is such a jumble of paragraphs, and it is difficult to determine what is in response to what. I can tell you that Ross (whoever he really is) is incorrect when he says that I take this personally---I do not, except to the degree that I take Wikipedia seriously, and want to see it improved. In the end, this is my only issue: is the Sting article improved in any way by having this information? I do not see how it is. What I attempted to explain to this gentleman (and I believe you can see this on the article's talk page) is that a brief mention of Sting's habit of inviting fan's onstage to sing that specific song with him on that specific tour is trivial, but could be added to the article as long as there was proper documentation of the fact. This I regarded as a fair compromise, provided there was no specific mention of his name (this last I [and others] regard as a vanity edit). Now, of course, it seems that he is not actually the person he has seemingly impersonated, which means the addition of such information by him was not, in fact, a vanity edit, but is certainly perplexing. He, in fact, seems to be taking this very seriously, and has dragged all of us into this mediation over a matter I still regard as trivial. That said, as indicated above, I am open to a compromise. Thanks for your time. ---Charles 22:13, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 19:43, 20 November 2006 (UTC) RestoringI haven't deleted the article, but I can restore it by request. Please ask the main editor to contact me. Thanks. NCurse work 06:44, 22 November 2006 (UTC) re K42 talk pageThats a big problem though - what you or I might consider to be perfectly coherent, true and relevant information, someone else might not and they go and delete all your hard work. I get pissed off when some self righteous Wikiperson deletes things that they have no way of proving are a) false, misrepresented or misleading b) irrelevant or obscure c) not valuable as a contribution to the greater collective knowledge of the Wiki community. What annoys me is that I get picked up for adding information about suburbs in my locale, and not citing sources, however when I look at bios of towns and cities throughout the world (usually through random article selection) there are no sources cited, and its taken for granted that its true. Why cannot the same apply to what I am doing?! It's a complete contradiction.
Ross VinerI just read about this guy Viner in a biography and did a search which brought me here. Charles seems to be taking this personally. He wishes to deny this trivia because he feels viner submitted it? Isn’t the point of Wikipedia interesting truthful trivia? It’s full of it. How do you know Sting didn’t submit anything here? I guess you better delete the whole Sting article. This video is awesome and at worst an interesting footnote. I’d rather know about that video than Sting’s yogas teacher or airflight habits. and for you to deny it on a technicality is probably not consistent with wikipedia’s intent. Get a life. Shattered consensusThe article is an ad for the book. It's nowhere near what an article about a book should be like. In addition, the article tries to present the authors' fringe positions in a way to get around the Undue Weight provision of NPOV. The fight is about whether the idea should be presented as the author presents it (thus, creating an article which violates NPOV) or whether the statement should be balanced in such a way that readers do not mistake a fringe position for a mainstream position (which may create "original research" issues). Neither option is acceptable. An article about a book should focus on the impact and reception of the book, it should focus on what people have said or written about the book - it should not be used as advocacy for the position endorsed by the authors of the book. Guettarda 02:52, 11 December 2006 (UTC) Leaving name tagsThanks for the reminder Nkayesmith but I am very conscientious about signing my name. I had to reorganise the Gordon Cheng talk page because people were leaving unsigned comments. Knobbly 21:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC) |
