The Nixon Cocktail is a Bourbon whiskey based cocktail. It was created by Joe Gilmore, the Head Barman of the American Bar at the Savoy Hotel in London, to mark American President Nixon visiting Britain in 1969. The cocktail was mixed at the American bar and then sent over to Claridge’s where Nixon was staying.

The Nixon cocktail is made with 1/2 Bourbon Whiskey, 1/2 Sloe Gin, 2 dashes of peach bitter. The cocktail is stirred and then serve on the rocks, and can be decorated with a slice of fresh peach and a cherry
