Nitt Witt Ridge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nitt Witt Ridge is a house in Cambria, California, located at 881 Hillcrest Dr, Cambria Pines. It was designed and built by Art Beal, who is also known as Der Tinkerpaw or Captain Nitt Witt. Beal was a trash collector for many years, and much of the material used in Nitt Witt Ridge was rescued from the landfill. Some parts are also reportedly remnants from Hearst Castle. Other common building materials are beer cans, abalone shells, and concrete.

Nitt Witt Ridge is California Historical Landmark No. 939. It is considered Thematic landmark, in connection with the Twentieth Century Folk Art Environments [1].
