NitroTech is a free and open source content management system (CMS). The idea of NitroTech is to be able to create a web page that not only is customisable in every aspect but is also community based. By using NitroTech you, the Administrator of the website, can edit everything on the site from pages to menus, users to forums, downloads to boxes and much much more.

[edit] Features

An extensive list of features can be found on the official NitroTech website.

NitroTech aims to be as easy as possible while create community driven environment to develop websites in. The core part of the NitroTech engine is somewhat cut down from a users point of view choosing simplicity over options, but the innovative package management feature will provide an excellent interface to letting the administrator choose exactly what they want creating a customised website environment.

The aim of NitroTech's package manager is to provide every website with what they need and not an overabundance of features that end up sitting in the back of their website unused.

[edit] Status

NitroTech is still under development by a team of volunteers. The project receives no funding and as such development is slow, nevertheless many of the planned features are on their way and NitroTech aims to bring the usability of Linux to the internet.

NitroTech is kindly hosted by sourceforge.net who provide the project with services such as CVS and file release management.

[edit] Team

The NitroTech team is lead by Joshua Hesketh but equal credit must be given to each member for their ongoing commitment to the project.

A list of the team members is found here.

[edit] Releases

On the 06/06/06 NitroTech made their first release entitled "FuriousFire" which was a primarily released as a proof of concept pre-alpha. The release provided functionality for creating dynamic content but isn't up to usability standards and requires some knowledge of how the program works. However it is possible to create simple content websites with the release.
