Talk:Nissan VG engine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

wasn't the 200ZX powered by the RB20DET, rather than the VG30DE? I'm pretty sure thats why it has a different model name...

Well it was called the 200Z, ZG, ZR, and ZR II in the home market (from 300zx page) You are correct that the 200zr models had 2 liter engines, the VG20et or the RB20det. I thought I also remembered one with a vg30de, but maybe I was thinking late 80s 200sx. Jgregg 19:01, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

I looked some more and found I was mostly right:

200Z, 200ZS, 200ZG- VG20ET (V6 single cam turbo 170ps(gross)) Japan Only
200ZR- RB20DET (in-line 6 twin cam turbo 180ps(net)) Japan Only
300ZX Turbo- VG30ET (V6 single cam turbo 195ps(net) 230ps(gross))
300ZX- VG30E- (V6 single cam non-turbo)
300ZR VG30DE (V6 twin cam no turbo 190ps(net)) Japan Only

All these are for the Z31 chassis if anyone was wondering Jgregg 20:26, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
