[edit] Nisei definition
I have corrected the assertion that only second generation Japanese-Americans living on the West Coast are known as nisei. Evidence that "nisei" includes Hawaiians can be found in U.S. 100th Infantry Battalion and http://nisei.hawaii.edu/page/main . (Also, my father, aunts and uncles are all proud Hawaiian-born nisei.) I'm also placing a link to the Nisei article for the sake of our Canadian and South American nisei friends. Gusuku 04:16, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
I find this page, and its redirection from "Nisei" mildly offensive. I am a Canadian nisei in my 40s, and do not have anything to do with the people and events described here.

I'm gonna hafta agree with poslfit: some of the things on this page are offensive and some are inaccurate. meccaneer 06:13, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
I aggre, I am a brazilian sansei and, as far as I know, the japanese colony in Brazil is the biggest one outside Japan, much bigger than in USA. Nisei, sansei, yonsei and so on are generic terms for japanese descendents in many countries around the world, not only in the USA. Maybe there could be a generic Nisei page, along with pages for specific nationalities. --Ale murakami 17:45, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
