Nirvana Avenue, Melbourne
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nirvana Ave. is a residential street running roughly north-south between the Princes Highway and Waverley Road in East Malvern, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. It is paralleled along its entire length by the adjacent Karma Ave, which has led to speculation that one or more Buddhists had a say in the naming of these streets.
Since the mid-1990s, Nirvana Ave. has the highest-placed street sign in Victoria; the sign was raised to its present elevation after several earlier signs were stolen, presumably by fans of the band Nirvana.
