Niphredil
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Niphredil, in J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, is a white flower whose name means the star of the earth. It first bloomed in the forest of Neldoreth in Doriath to greet fair Lúthien when she was born. Together with the sun-star flower of elanor, it also grew in Lothlórien on Cerin Amroth. the place that Arwen Undómiel chose to die at, and where she and Aragorn had been betrothed. After Arwen's death, both Niphredil and elanor ceased to bloom in Middle-earth.
