Oxyloma haydeni haydeni (W. G. Binney, 1958) |
The Niobrara ambersnail (Oxyloma [haydeni] haydeni) is a subspecies of snail. The Kanab ambersnail is typically regarded as a related subspecies. As with other species of ambersnail, it is distinguished by slight differences in shell morphology.[1]
The snail is found in Northern Arizona and the Kanab Canyon area of southern Utah.[1] It is also found in Wyoming, where it is classed as one of the species in greatest conservation need.[2]
