  • Description: Solid state structure of niobium(V) chloride. The octahedral coordination around niobium is distorted. Bond lengths: Nb–Cl 256 pm (bridging), 225 pm (terminal). Bond angle: Nb–Cl–Nb 101.3°. Nb–Nb distance is 395.1 pm (nonbonding). NbBr5, TaCl5 and TaBr5 are isostructural; NbI5 and TaI5 have distinct structures.
