[edit] Please rename article to Sasuke

The original program is called Sasuke, not Ninja Warrior. Could someone with a login please change it? See the Takeshi's Castle/MXC article for a similar discussion. It could be named "Sasuke (television program)", "Sasuke (game show)", "Sasuke (obstacle course)", "Sasuke (variety show)", ... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.153.176.13 (talk • contribs) 02:33, 3 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Episode List / Competition Years

Does anybody have a list or some data by which to match up the episodes on G4 with the years they were original held in? Sweetfreek 06:43, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

In the middle of the Japanese Sasuke page they have the names and numbers of the people who went the farthest in that particular year. Click on the 3rd item of the table of contents. On the bottom of the page are the TV ratings for that particular year. The dates following are the airdates (the show is taped). Hope that helps. Lostinube 11:45, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fix disambiguation pages

To uphold Wikipedia's standardizations, this article ought to be on a proper disambiguation page -- one named "Sasuke (disambiguation)", not simply "Sasuke". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.153.176.13 (talk • contribs) 02:36, 3 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Concerning spoilers...(and other things)

Since the article is now about the Japanese show Sasuke rather than the G4 version I'm assuming that it's okay to add in relevant and up-to-date information about the show (hence my inclusion of Makoto Nagano's name). If it's not then please feel free to add a spoiler something or other to the information.

Also, Sasuke is now it's own article in the Japanese Wikipedia and so I changed the link but did not update the translation. Someone can add that back on if they want to. Lostinube 13:30, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Learn from the changes made to articles of other international game shows. (Takeshi's Castle, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Weakest Link, Wheel Of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Hey! Spring of Trivia, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, American Idol, ...).
As for the translation, what is the difference between Sasuke and Muscle Ranking Series? Are there other tournaments like Sasuke on the Muscle Rakning Series page, or what? -- 72.153.176.13 21:33, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Muscle Ranking Series was a TV show on TBS that featured various different types of sports challenges (target soccer kicking, bicycle obstacle courses etc). Sasuke, it's female version Kunoichi and the New Year's program Sportsman No.1 were all off-shoots of the show. Info for Kunoichi and Sportsman No. 1 are also in the Muscle Ranking article and all that info is quite unwiedly. The actual Muscle Ranking Series is no longer on the air whereas Sasuke is still on-going. The Japanese Wikipedia always tries to include as many up-to-date statistics as possible so it makes sense that someone decided to split Sasuke into it's own page. In short, one (Muscle Ranking Series) is a link to a show that is still relevant but no actually on the air and the other (Sasuke) is a seasonal special that has no end in sight. [edit] Did 1,400 people attempt stage one?

I noticed that Potara removed the statement, "Since 1997, over 1,400 individuals have attempted the first stage of the Sasuke tournament." What merited its removal? Was the statement incorrect? -- 72.153.176.13 21:49, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

The number came from G4's press release, and it's probably the sum of all the different competitions held. Sweetfreek 06:38, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Okay, but was it incorrect? Empirical data seems worthy of being encyclopedic content to me. If it's only partly incorrect, a simple re-wording might clarify it. -- 72.153.176.13 01:35, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clear stage 4

according to the article "Only two men have ever achieved this outstanding task, Kazuhiko Akiyama and Makoto Nagano." am I to assume one of them is from this year. The reason I ask. I have Tivo'd the series and as I am watching it, it mentions one contestant being the Only to finish it. So either the other name is this years winner or something is wrong in the TV translation or I'll see one of them win at the end of the series.

I am the one who included the extra information. I don't know which particular Sasuke is being shown on G4 right now but I am basing results on what has already been broadast in Japan as of right now. And if people look at the Japanse Wikipedia page the results are clearly shown for every year. Lostinube 06:48, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

G4 showed the summer and winter ones from 05 so I assume the next winner must have been this year. Wish they would have showed that rather than last years. Thanks for the reference to the Japan page though the kanji (sp) characters make it hard or me to read :-) --63.163.213.245 00:13, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
