I have strong views and generally dislike people who suggest what I consider stupid things or don't appear to bother to try and understand the issue being considered. I also dislike time wasters, including vandals, trolls and people who are just too lazy to read the history and/or find out where to ask questions. Most of the time, I feel I'm resonably polite but, I may respond fairly harshly to issues which fit in to the above considerations. What I say and how I respond will vary somewhat depending on my mood but I do my best to keep in line with wikipedian policies. If you feel my response has been unduly harsh and/or violated policies or guidelines such as Wikipedia:Civility, Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers, Wikipedia:Assume good faith or Wikipedia:No personal attacks feel free to comment. Occasionally, you may find I agree with you. I suspect most of the time, you will find I don't, since I feel in most cases my conduct even thought it may be harsher then others isn't in violation of either the letter or spirit of policies and guidelines. In any case, generally speaking, if you're trying to get me to be nice, actually being nice to me may help.

Hi, i'm the guy who wrote the page. The problem with the omega particles as represented was that they are meant to be unstable, but the aliens who created it were trying to stabilise it to give their culture a future (using resonance frequency or some other piece of treknobabble). Hi, I noticed your question about Wilson's politicial contributions on Talk:Plame_affair. I pulled up some info from the FECinfo political contributions database, which indexes the free, public contributions info. I hope this helps. I found the receipt for Wilson's contribution to Bush's campaign in the 2000 election cycle, but I did not find any contributions to Gore. [edit] BYU Religious Requirements

You asked the following about the Brigham Young University page:

I'm a bit confused by the above statement. It seems to suggest non-LDS students need to regularly attend some sort of religious service. This would imply that atheists, agonostics, and non practicing religious individuals can't attend BYU. I also wonder what happens with religions where regular attendance of some sort of religious service is not compulsory or even generally common, e.g. Buddhism, Hinduism, or even Sikhism which is mentioned in reference in the article later on. Can anyone help clarify the matter? is my interpretation correct?

As far as I know, the endorsement by a religious leader simply states that the student in question is living by the standards his religion requires.  If attendance of services is one of these requirements, than the leader shouldn't endorse the student if he doesn't regularly attend services.  If, though, as you ask, attendance of services is not required, I can't see why a student would not be endorsed for not attending.  Basically, just live by the tenets of your religion, and you'll be fine.

Oh man, I wish. I took that picture during a spring break trip around Costa Rica. I actually got to hold that sloth in my arms. It was so cool. Anyway, the camera I used has both still, audio, and video capabilities. Unfortunately I didn't have the memory card space to shoot video while I was there as the place I was staying during the time I took the sloth pictures didn't have internet access so I couldn't upload the photos to clear space. That was horrible grammar. Wait, there was internet access in that town. Hmm. Oh, I know what the deal was. The room we were in had large, almost floor to ceiling, windows all the way around and was on the top floor of the building. This meant that all pictures were backlit. I had to use a flash to balance it out and then adjust the brightness. Shooting quality video from a palm-sized digital camera would have been near impossible. Thanks for giving me an excuse to go back there, though. Now I just have to convince my parents to donate airfare and a week's lodging so I can shoot a 10 second video segment for Wikipedia. :) —WAvegetarian•CONTRIBUTIONSTALK• EMAIL• 19:32, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

I don't see what's PoV about the fact that there was a craze. With regard to your actual edit, I agree that the "for us" shouldn't be there, but not for the reason that you gave. It had nothing to do with people being interested in what happened in the West (though why do you assume that readers won't be interested in that?); the article said that it was good fortune because it led to the making of films of dancers in the late-nineteenth century that would otherwise not have been made. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 14:36, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

I didn't want to take the entire discussion at the fair use pages, so I wanted to bring this to you. The mugshot photo taken of Gibson was taken by the LASD, the police agency that arrested and booked Gibson. I found out from their terms of service that their images are non-commercial only (which is against our policies). Some believe that mugshot photos are PD upon creation, but it is only true in some areas. I tried to contact the LASD about the clarification of the photo, but no response was made by them. I know Mel doesn't like the photo, but my main goal is to make sure the license is right. I hope this should be enough to explain the situation. I moved your troll accusation about the "photographs" of King Henry to the Discussion page for Ref Desk, because I did not want a new Wikipedia contributor to feel like their head had been bitten off for using words imprecisely, and time seemed of the essence, because a questioner may check back right away to see what the contributors to Wikipedia, in their collective wisdom, have come up with in response to a question. I wish, in retrospect, that I had just contacted you first to express my wish that the response be modified to sound less like an accusation or attack. Best wishes. Got your note on labels and Selenium Sulfide. Good call there, I didn't realize that there was at least one flavor of H&S that used this as its active - though I'll note that H&S' web paged didn't make note of the ingredients, it only pointed out that Se. Sulfide is a common ingredient.
