Niles McKinley High School

Niles McKinley High School is a high school in Niles, Ohio. The school is the home of the Red Dragons. It has both a varsity and a junior varsity football team. The school also has varsity and JV soccer, volleyball, softball, baseball, basketball, tennis, and golf teams. The Red Dragons also participate in Academic Challege, English Festival, Speech, and Prep Bowl. Three different languages can be taken at Niles McKinley they are Italian, Spanish, and French. All other major subjects, all maths, sciences, englishes, and histories, can also be taken.
Notable alumni include Ralph Infante, Jr., the mayor of Niles,[1]. William McKinley, the 25th President of the United States, was born in Niles on January 29, 1843, but he did not attend high school here.[2]

The Niles McKinley Red Dragon football team was started in 1898. It has been a prestigious team from its beginning. The Red Dragons were voted Ohio State Champions for 1961 and 1963. They were undefeated for 48 straight regular season games, from 1959-1964. The Red Dragons are in the Metro Athletic Conference, also know as the MAC. Their oppenents include the Howland Tigers, their rival, the Poland Bulldogs, the East Liverpool Potters, the Salem Quakers, the Struthers Wildcats, the Campbell Memorial Red Devils, the Canfield Cardinals, and North Akron. The Red Dragons were once a part of the nationally recognized All-American Conference whose teams included the Massillon Tigers and Canton McKinley Bulldogs, two of the oldest high school football teams.
