[edit] Nile (Fictional Killer)
Nile is a fictional contract killer in the book Scorpia of the Alex Rider series, written by Anthony Horowitz.
The character Nile is employed by the crime organization Scorpia, and he has a terrible skin disorder which makes him both black and white in blotches. Julia Rothman tells Alex that " he was born black but will die white" . Alex himself thinks that without the skin problem Nile would be "classically handsome" , clear skinned and close - shaved . When Alex firsts sees him he thinks of him as a man in his late teens or early twenties .
Nile is a master with swords, and first killed someone at age 18. He is described by Alex as moving with the grace of a ballet dancer. Alex notes that the late Yassen Gregorovich moves with the same grace - this is the result of many years of vigourous training on the behalf of Scorpia . Nile is also described as having the athlete's ability to cover alot of ground in a very short amount of time (Alex has to stride to keep up with him). When Alex sees Nile he already knows that he is facing a master of martial arts and he knows that "he has perhaps only seconds to live " .
He originally sees Alex as an enemy and knocks him out with a martial arts move, but in due time Alex and Nile come to be almost friends , Nile being one of the youngest people on the island of Malagosto, home of Scorpia's training camp. Nile however, very bluntly tells Alex that if he tries anything he will kill Alex without second thought . However , in the end Nile is ordered to kill Alex. Bu Alex, relizing his fear of heights , lures Nile up to the top of a hot air balloon and pushes hm off , incinirating Nile in the process.
After Alex "kills" Mrs. Jones , Nile asks Alex what he felt as he completed his first assassination . Alex truthfully replies that he did not feel anything as he fired the shot . Nile nods his head , and tells Alex that it was the same for him, but in time he will come to enjoy the feeling of killing .
