Nikolay Yazykov

Nikolay Mikhailovich Yazykov (Russian: Николай Михайлович Языков, March 4, 1803, Simbirsk - December 26 1846, Moscow) was Russian poet and Slavophile.
Nikolay Yazykov was born in Simbirsk in the family of land lords. His poems were first printed in 1819. He studied at philosophy department of Tartu university in 1822—1829. In this period he creates his own poetical "light" style.
He starts to collect the Russian folk poestry in 1826 together with P. Kireevsky. In that period he comes closer to Slavophiles, among others to Konstantin Aksakov and Aleksey Khomyakov. After abroad residence from 1838 he returns to Moscow in 1843.
