Nikki Nelson

Nikki Nelson (born: January 3, 1969 in La Mesa, California) is an American Country Music Singer. At the age of 7, her family moved to Topaz Lake, Nevada where she sang on the Northern Nevada circuit with her father. They played in band called "Nikki Nelson and Gold Rush", when she was 12 years old. In 1991, she replaced Paulette Carlson as lead vocalist for Highway 101, and their first album together was Bing Bang Boom. Their next album, The New Frontier, was released in 1993, on Liberty Records. Upon marking Highway 101's 10th year Anniversary, Carlson returned and Nelson signed a solo recording deal with Sony Music Entertainment, although her solo album was never released. She reunited with Highway 101 in 2006, after the departure of vocalist Chrislynn Lee.
