[edit] Borges

I have removed Jorge Luis Borges, pending citation. I've read pretty nearly everything he wrote in prose (though not all of his film reviews, and I'm note comparably familiar with his poetry), and a good deal about him, and I would say that nothing that I am aware of in his life or work would qualify him for this label. He did, certainly, in some of his writings, entertain extreme notions of solipsism, but I can't see that justifying calling him a nihilist. And I certainly don't see a basis to call him anarchist: among other things, near the height of his career he accepted an appointment as head of the Argentine national library. What is the basis to describe him this way? Or anyone else listed, for that matter, given that the article as it stands gives no citations? -- Jmabel | Talk 04:48, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copied from Infoshop

The current version of this article seems to have been taken without acknowledgment from http://www.infoshop.org/wiki/index.php/Nihilist_Anarchy. Infoshop is not necessarily known for flawless scholarship; also, I'm not sure it is under a compatible license (it seems utterly unclear on the license status of its content, but by default that would mean that it is copyrighted). I suspect that we should revert to an earlier version. - Jmabel | Talk 07:34, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

It is not encouraging to see that this was done by 69.218.218.2 (talk contribs), an IP address with no other edits. This really doesn't leave me any useful way to inquire about this. I'm just going to revert. - Jmabel | Talk 07:35, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I Wrote It

I wrote the "nihilist anarchy" definition at infoshop.org's open wiki for use as open source information. I'm also the author of "Nihilism and Women" published by Autonomedia under the pen name "High Priest Wombat, KSC" The sources used in this definition are found linked at the bottom of the page. The intro explanation offered about what nihilist anarchists are reflects a growing political tendency within the anarchist movement that acts as an influence on the green anarchist and insurrectionary anarchist tendencies of North America, spurred on by "Nihilism, Anarchy and the 20th Century", a pamphlet located at http://www.pistolsdrawn.org and other references to the nihilism of nihilist anarchy found throughout "Green Anarchy" and "Anarchy" magazine in the United States. The previous definition is weak and seems developed by post-Nietzschean thinkers, perhaps using the condition of nihilism as understood by Raoul Vaneigem, author of "Revoltuion of Everyday Life". While nihilist anarchists may draw influence from both thinkers and their interpretations of nihilism, our explanations are stronger and will override attempts at defining nihilist anarchy contrary to this developing tendency. I will resubmit the content and I plan to continue developing the Open Wiki definition as my research continues, adding more to the wikipedia definition as appropriate.
