'Nightline' is the name of the National Nine News's late-night bulletin. It airs at around 11.30pm weeknights. It is currently presented by Michael Usher. Its main competitors are Ten's Late News and ABC News's Lateline. However, both of these bulletins usually air before Nightline.
The series was patterned after the version that airs on ABC (US), but that one is different from the Australian counterpart even though at one point both versions used the same opening graphics, which both no longer use.
