Nigel Pearson (born August 21, 1963) is a football manager, recently being the caretaker of West Bromwich Albion, following the departure of Bryan Robson. Some people think that Pearson saved Carlisle United from a certain death, when he brought in goalkeeper Jimmy Glass on-loan as he scored a last minute goal against Plymouth Argyle which saved the club from relegation to the Football Conference, and instead Scarborough were relegated. The Plymouth game was his last in charge of the Brunton Park outfit. On the 19th of october 2006 he was linked with the Sheffield Wednesday job, alongside Gary Megson, however Nigel has now taken over as Newcastle United Assistant Manager, taking over from Kevin Bond who was sacked after the bungs scandal.
