NIGAL pipeline

NIGAL pipeline (also known as Trans-African gas pipeline and Trans-Saharan gas pipeline) is a planned natural gas pipeline from the region of Warri in Nigeria to the Algerian Mediterranean coast. Approximately 1300 kilometers of pipeline will be laid down in Nigeria, 750 kilometers in Niger and 2500 kilometers in Algeria. In Algeria the pipeline will supply the export pipelines to Europe (Medgaz, Galsi).
On 14 January 2002 the Memorandum of Understandig for preparation of this project was signed by NNPC and Sonatrach.The pipeline is expected to be operational in 2015 with annual capacity of 20-30 bmc. The total investment will be around $10 billion.
