Nidderdale
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nidderdale is one of the Yorkshire Dales (although outside of the formal National Park area) in North Yorkshire, England. It is the upper valley of the River Nidd, which flows south through the dale (forming several reservoirs including the Gouthwaite Reservoir), before then turning east and eventually joining the River Ure.
It was a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1994.[1] Settlements in the dale include Pateley Bridge, Bewerley, Glasshouses, Ramsgill, Lofthouse, Summerbridge, Hampsthwaite, Birstwith, Darley, Kettlesing, Felliscliffe and Middlesmoor.
