[edit] taxis

I don't think an article on Sydney taxis should exist. It should be in the Transport in Sydney. I guess Wikipedia's scope isn't to be a travel guide but an encyclopaedia. Why don't you include WikiTravel's page on Sydney as a overview for the start of your guide? — Donama 02:52, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Cool, thank you Donama for your very useful comments! The transport in Sydney article I have is out-of-date, and doesn't include taxis (it's using http://pediapress.com/ , who print, bind, ship, the book etc), but they're using a snapshot of the Wikipedia from early July. Completely agree that expanding the taxis bit that was added to transport in Sydney since then is the way to go, and I have removed my note about maybe adding a taxis article from the list. Understand that Wikipedia's scope isn't to be a travel guide but an encyclopaedia - however that doesn't mean that selecting appropriate articles won't give you something sort of like a comprehensive travel guide, but based on free/libre content. Including the wikitravel page as an introduction is a good idea, just not sure how to do it :-) I'll see if I can find any alternatives to pediapress that are more flexible and more up-to-date. -- All the best, Nickj (t) 09:26, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
