The Greek translation is plain statement of fact. The Old Testament reference basically asserts as definite fact the suggestion that such naming was intentional. As such, it is POV and you're right to remove it. But the link is still plausible. Tony Blair was certainly already politically active at time of Nicky's birth, and having a public-school education will probably have studied classics and know the word's meaning, as it's the same in ancient Greek as in modern (though in ancient Greek you'd transliterate "Blair" as Βλερ). Let's leave the Greek in there and let the reader decide. If the reader decides that the meaning wasn't intentional, then it's just a harmless bit of trivia.

I agree. Saying that it has been noted that "Νίκη Βλερ" translates as "Blair's victory" in proper Greek is hardly POV.
