Nicolas-Joseph Beaurepaire

Nicolas-Joseph Beaurepaire (January 7, 1740 - September 2, 1792) was a French officer.

Born in Coulommiers, he distinguished for his defense of Verdun in the Battle of Valmy against the Prussians. He chose death by suicide to avoid the dishonor of surrender.

He was buried in the Panthéon.
