Nick Hexum

Nicholas Lofton Hexum (born April 12, 1970 in Madison, Wisconsin) is the lead singer and guitarist for the Los Angeles, California-based alternative rock band 311. Hexum went to Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska, where he played in the school's concert jazz band.

What Have You Records is a record label owned and operated by Nick Hexum. "Ginsing Clothing" (presumably a musical-reference spelling variant of "ginseng") is a clothing line owned and operated by Nick Hexum.

Nick Hexum bought a private island vacation rental off the coast of Florida, and has proposed to rename the island from Money Key to Melody Key. [1] Melody Key is now on the market for $10 million. [2]

Hexum appeared on the Joe Strummer track "It's A Rockin' World", from Chef Aid: The South Park Album alongside Flea and Tom Morello.

Hexum also created a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting various environmental and social causes called Liberal Hexum. Its main focus is global warming. He recently completed the Los Angeles marathon; accepting per mile pledges to be donated to his PAC.

When not touring / recording with his band 311, he produces a handful of bands such as Pepper, The Matches, and Zack Hexum.

Hexum's younger brother Zack is an accomplished musician who has a solo album entitled The Story So Far.

Nick Hexum is credited on The Beacon Street Collection by No Doubt.
