Nick Denton
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nick Denton is the founder and proprietor of Gawker Media.
Nick Denton was educated at University College School and University College, Oxford. Prior to becoming a blog expert, he was a journalist with the Financial Times.
Denton co-wrote a book about the collapse of Barings Bank called All That Glitters. He was one of the founders of a social networking site called First Tuesday and co-founded Moreover Technologies with David Galbraith and Angus Bankes who were both, incidentally, at University College School.
Gawker Media's Gawker Stalker feature generated significant controversy, including a public response from actor George Clooney who proposed a solution to the privacy-violating service: "There is a simple way to render these guys useless... flood their website with bogus sightings. Get your clients to get 10 friends to text in fake sightings of any number of stars."
He was once featured in a Vanity Fair photoshoot.
