Nicholas Boragina

Nicholas Boragina (born December 19, 1984) is the youngest candidate as of 2006 to have ever run for public office in Prince Edward Island, at the Federal, Provincial, or Municipal levels.[citation needed] He was born in Scarborough, Ontario to Maureen Plourde and Nicholas Boragina Senior. Nicholas Junior lived in Scarborough until June of 1995 when he moved with his family to Prince Edward Island in the Canadian Maritimes. He ran in the 2003 Prince Edward Island Provincial Election for the New Democratic Party, taking 78 votes (3.07% of the total). He was 18 years and 9 months on election day. After leaving PEI, Boragina left the NDP, stating that he was only involved in the party to support the party's provincial leader, Gary Robichaud. He currently resides in Toronto having moved to the area in May 2005. Now a member of the Conservative Party, he ran unsuccessfuly in the 2006 Toronto Municipal Election in Ward 19, Trinity--Spadina against incumbent Joe Pantalone. His platform was right-of-centre and pro-transit. He describes his ethnicity as half Italian and half Acadian.
