Niagara Parks Police

The Niagara Parks Police (NPP) is a Special Constable service that provides policing services for Niagara Parks Commission in Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. The NPP was first established in 1887.
The NPP are Special Constables who receive their training at the Ontario Police College and hold the power of a police officers in relation to Niagara Parks property:
- management of the vehicle and pedestrian traffic
- maintaining the peace
- ensuring the safe return of lost property to its rightful owners
- discretionary enforcement required of the Criminal Code of Canada and other federal and provincial statutes.
During peak tourist season the Parks Police employ approximately thirty five students, most of who are participants in local law and security courses. These unarmed members hold the designation of Provincial Offenses Officer and are primarily responsible for the orderly flow of traffic and parking offenses.
