[edit] Image on {{current}}
Hiya, if you're not seeing the new image chances are it is stored in your cache, so even though the new image is there you're not seeing it. You need to force-refresh (ctrl-F5 for Internet Explorer or ctrl-R for Firefox). I think that's what your problem is. :) Cheers, Talrias (t | e | c) 01:39, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Same-Sex Marriage map
Thanks for the kudos on the map. Look what a degree in graphic design gets you, heh. A chance to use your talent for free. Nothing more than an Illustrator job. Sorry I didn't reply on Wikinews, I didn't want to have to register there in order to post.

- :) That's OK! I work mainly in Photoshop, and I plan to learn Illustrator. I redesigned the Wikinews logo in WAY higher resolution recently, but I used photoshop so it's resolution-restricted. Nice work! -- NGerda 02:19, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for the great picture
Yo. Thanks for taking the nice picture you added to the L.A. page. I often thought about taking a picture of the I-110/I-105 interchange during the 3 years I lived in L.A., but I didn't have a good digital camera back then. I finally got a decent camera as a gift this month after I moved back to the Bay Area.

- :) Thanks a bunch! I also took some pics of the L.A. Mayor and U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer. Glad you're enjoying them! -- NGerda 01:44, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Earthquake.jpg
According to the FAQ for Google Earth: "You can personally use an image from the application (for example on your website, on a blog or in a word document) as long as you preserve the copyrights and attributions including the Google logo attribution. However, you cannot sell these to others…without first getting a rights clearance from Google."[1] As such this image is only available under a non commercial license. I understand that this image has been tagged as fair use, but I also think that we can quite easily create a free license map of the aftershock locations using freely available maps. - Um...okay. I just thought that I could improve on the Google Earth image already uploaded. -- NGerda 00:46, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Jimbo Wales to Attend San Diego Meetup on October 18 2005
Hello, Jimbo Wales will be in San Diego to attend OOPSLA and has agreed to come by and visit with the San Diego wikipedians. If you are interested, you will find more info on my talk page. Johntex\talk 00:54, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Details on the Meetup
I went to the Town and Country area last night to check out restaurants. I've eaten at the restaurants in Town and Country and they weren't that great, ao I wanted to find us somewhere nearby. There is a nice but expensive steak house down the street, but I don't know what everyone's budget is. I picked this place, I hope it is OK with everyone:
- 7:00pm Tuesday October 18th
- 24-Hour Valley Kitchen Family Restaurant
- 875 Hotel Circle South, Mission Valley, 619-819-1017 or 619-298-8282.
- It is right across Highway 8 from the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center
- It is very casual and comes highly recommended by the hotel desk. Entrees are $8-$15. They have a wide menu: They have breakfast all-days, salads, burgers, steaks, echilladas, pies, that sort of place.
See you there! Johntex\talk 01:34, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] contributions to Rwanda and Rwandan Genocide
Hi NGerda, there is a Bibliography of the Rwandan Genocide for links relating to it. Even so, the link you gave was to the front page of an advocacy organization, rather than to the conference page mentioned. Also, links relating to the Genocide put on the country-level page are not appropriate. Please link only the specifically-relevant external page from the Bibliography page. I have removed your contribution in the meantime. Thanks, BanyanTree 21:19, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:SAUSD Boundry.jpg
I don't know where you got this map (Image:SAUSD Boundry.jpg), since you didn't provide a link to the original source, but you can clearly see that the underlying map is from Thomas Guides, and therefore is copyrighted. It is obviously NOT something that is US government created, and is NOT in the public domain, so it should not have had the {{PD-USGov}} added. Unless I hear from you fairly soon, I will edit the copyright tag and report the image to Copyright problems. BlankVerse 11:40, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Two Harbors.jpg
Can you please add an appropriate summary for this image. See example Image:Gonzales courthouse 2005.jpg. Otherwise, there is not enough information to justify the public domain tag -Thanks Nv8200p talk 05:23, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] So Cal Linux Expo
Since I notice you're local... I could use an extra Wikimedian or two to help man our exhibitor booth at the Southern California Linux Expo (February 11-12 in LA). In practice this mostly involves sitting around and occasionally explaining what this newfangled Wikipedia thing is to some people who have heard of it but don't know what it is, and chatting with a few casual users who drop by.
If you're interested or know someone who is, let me know. In particularly it would be great to have someone more familiar with some of the other projects like Wikinews. It scores you a free conference pass if you're into that Linux thing, and I can probably cover your parking if need be. --Brion 09:12, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the invitation; I'll likely be able to attend one or both days. Perhaps we can meet up in Santa Ana this weekend before the conference. I'm based in the northern sector, but I can travel about if necessary. -- NGerda 20:13, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Partial revert
I reverted the section name change in Operation Just Cause, moving the "official justification" qualifier which you had added into the section title into the text itself. I agree that this qualification was missing (and in fact, I had been thinking of putting it in myself at some point), but renaming the entire section seems innappropriate, since there are other statements in that section which call into question the official justification given by Bush.--CSTAR 05:49, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, I didn't catch that. -- NGerda 07:50, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Request for edit summary
Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 14% for major edits and 28% for minor edits. (Based on the last 144 major and 88 minor edits in the article namespace.)
This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 05:00, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging for Image:C-smithers.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:C-smithers.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image Tagging Image:PyongyangSat.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:PyongyangSat.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 03:41, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Robert Johnson & U2
Hi, Do you have a reference for Robert Johnson's supposed influence on the music of U2? I hear nothing of RJ in their music, and I'm a fan of both. --RobHutten 10:26, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
