NGamer Magazine is a brand-new British magazine specialising in Nintendo created consoles; the first issue was released on July 13, 2006. It is the successor publication to N64/NGC Magazine (1997-2006) and Super Play (1992-1996), continuing the unique style of those magazines.

[edit] Sections
NGamer has the following sections or features in its magazine. This is based on Issues 1 to 5, the only issues to date, so is subject to change.
Welcome! - This is simply where the editor (Mark Green) has an introduction of himself and the magazine. It also features a mini contents of everything on the cover.
Contents - Where everything in the magazine is given its corresponding page number.
NGExpress - A round-up of news, rumours, gossip, facts and opinions. It seems to include a one-page interview (known as NGamer Interview) as well as lots of small news items about everything Nintendo (from DS Lite sales to Metroid Prime figurines).
News Blast - This section contains the charts for GameCube, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance game sales, as well as a lot of very small news items with a sentence or two and a picture each.
Preview - This section gives previews of top upcoming games on Nintendo systems. The previews are of varying length from four pages (Super Mario Galaxy) to a double page spread at the end in which other games "they didn't have space for" receive small paragraphs each. Finally, it has an NGamer Diary which seems primarily comical though does give away small tid-bits and a release list of upcoming games.
Reviews - This section has reviews for all games already out or out very soon. It has a front page explaining how they score as well as a mini contents section. It then has bios for each member of the "NGamer Team". As well as UK releases, NGamer also reviews Japanese and American imports and has a 'Roundup' of games at the end.
World of Nintendo - Almost a tribute to Nintendo, this section is very varied and extremely large. It has a "Top 20 Nintendo Happenings" double page spread, as well as a guide for a game (Issue 1's game was New Super Mario Bros.) Next up is a feature (for example, in issue 2 it was 'Mario's Hidden History'). It then has two articles (Issue 1's two articles were about Brain Training and Super Monkey Ball) followed by a Top Tips section. Next is a section about what people have done Nintendo-wise outside of gaming (getting tattoos, modifying an NES, creating a cardboard Wii, etc). It then has a big article which leads to a competition (this is subject to change) and finally a "Mailbox" feature.
Subscribe - A small, double-page spread telling you how to subscribe to NGamer. Currently you get a free wireless GameCube Wavebird controller for doing so.
Download - This section was dedicated to retro gaming and fielded by "R.O.B.'s brother: DR64". It had a "History Lesson" section and a "Goal In" section which will in future concentrate on Wii's Virtual Console.
Meanwhile... - An unusual double-page spread which summarises key new titles and news related to non-Nintendo platforms: the Xbox 360 and the PSP for example.
Directory - Directory essentially contains NGamer's new, revised Top 20 for the GameCube, DS and Game Boy Advance (see below).
Next Month - This is a single page previewing the next issue.
The Back Page Quiz - This is an insanely hard, comical quiz that, currently, gives you a chance to win a DS Lite. This page also contains "The Last Gasp" which is comical and contained four things that couldn't quite fit anywhere else.
[edit] Top scored games
In Issue 1, the magazine printed their revised review scores for GameCube, GBA and DS games; made by intense negotiation by the staffers. Here is a list of all games currently rated 90% or over as of Issue 5:

[edit] NGTV
NGTV is the name applied to the DVD given away with each issue of NGamer. Each 'episode' contains footage of both newly released and upcoming games, as well as other footage of interest, for example of little-known or unreleased Mario titles (Episode 2) or retro games that the NGamer staff would like to appear on the Wii's Virtual Console (Episode 3). Episodes 3 and 4 have both featured commentary by editor Mark Green, with Episode 4 containing a documentary of some of the NGamer team going to test the Wii.
[edit] Dutch [N]Gamer
There is another Nintendo magazine named NGamer (alternative spelling: [N]Gamer), of Dutch origin with no links whatsoever to the UK's NGamer magazine.. It is published bi-monthly and is the longest running Nintendo-related publication in the Benelux. This magazine predates the British version by three years; its first issue was released in 2003. Other than the similar name and the shared specialization, they have nothing in common.
