NFA-LD

NFA-LD is a form of competitive collegiate debate adapted from high school Lincoln-Douglas debate.

The format of NFA-LD varies from the format of team policy debate. NFA-LD debate is one-on-one debate (thus, there is no negative block) and follows the following structure (total prep time for each debater is 4 minutes):

First Affirmative Constructive Speech (abbreviated 1AC) 6 minutes
Cross-Examination of First Affirmative by the Negative 3 minutes
First Negative Constructive Speech (1NC) 7 minutes
Cross-Examination of First Negative by Affirmative 3 minutes
First Affirmative Rebuttal (1AR) 6 minutes
First Negative Rebuttal (1NR) 6 minutes
Second Affirmative Rebuttal (2AR) 3 minutes
