Next Plateau Records

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Next Plateau Records is an American record label formed in the early 1980s. Focusing on the emerging New York hip hop music scene, the company earned substantial notoriety as an independent label, thanks heavily in part to the success of Salt N Pepa, it's biggest act to date.

In the 1990s, PolyGram bought the label; today it is a subsidiary of Universal Records. In 2004, Next Plateau scored a mega hit with Nina Sky's "Move Ya Body."

Other acts on the label are and/or have included: Carol Douglas, Sybil, KWS, Ultramagnetic MC's, Paperboy, Antoinette, Andrea Martin and Boy Krazy.
