[edit] Television stations
These stations are either owned and operated by Nexstar, or controlled by Nexstar (under agreements with companies such as Mission Broadcasting and Sinclair Broadcast Group).
- 1WHAG serves as a sub-market station to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
- 2Nexstar has announced its possible acquisitions of WLYH-TV, the UPN (to be CW) affiliate in Lebanon-Harrisburg-York-Lancaster, Pennsylvania and WTAJ-TV, the CBS affiliate in Johnstown-Altoona, Pennsylvania. Both currently owned by Montecito Broadcast Group, the only difference is that WLYH is still operated under a local marketing agreement with Clear Channel Communications for the time being, as Clear Channel put up all of its television stations for sale. The acquisitions were announced on July 26, 2006, with the closing on these acquisitions expected in late November or during December. Also, the LMA with Clear Channel signed for WLYH will expire in 2015 -- where another station, CBS affiliate WHP-TV, operates the station. [1]
- 3A sale of KFTA to Mission Broadcasting is pending; Nexstar will continue to operate the station after the sale.
