Newstead, Nottinghamshire

Newstead Village is a small village in Nottinghamshire, England. It is situated between Nottingham and Mansfield in the Borough of Gedling. It is a former mining town. It was previously called Newstead Colliery Village. Lord Byron the poet and notorious hedonist lived at nearby Newstead Abbey. Newstead is part of Nottinghamshires Hidden Valleys area.
