Newcastle upon Tyne East will be a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It will elect one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

[edit] Boundaries
Following their review of parliamentary representation in Tyne and Wear in 2005, the Boundary Commission for England has re-created the historic constituency of Newcastle upon Tyne East. The Wallsend element of the existing seat has been moved to North Tyneside
The electoral wards used in the new East seat are within the boundaries of the city of Newcastle:
- Byker, Dene, North Heaton, North Jesmond, Ouseburn, South Heaton, South Jesmond, Walker, and Walkergate
