New Zealand Human Rights Film Festival

The New Zealand Human Rights Film Festival, first held in May of 2005, was the first human rights-themed film festival held in New Zealand and screened 25 films. The film Singapore Rebel had been banned in Singapore a month before the Festival; other notable films included Bread and Roses, Promises, and Arms for the Poor. The Festival was organized by the Human Rights Network of Aotearoa New Zealand.
