New York State Route 950A, referred to as the "West Bank Perimeter Road," is among the longest non-parkway reference routes in New York. Stretching from north to south along the western bank of the Allegheny Reservoir, the road runs south from Interstate 86/New York State Route 17 exit 17, the eastern terminus of NY 394, in the Cold Spring hamlet of Steamburg southward through the town of South Valley to the Pennsylvania state line.

The route runs parallel to New York State Route 280 across the Reservoir for its entire length.

Inexplicably, this unlabeled reference route is separated by only a few miles of state highway (a portion of NY 394) from the much shorter north-to-south New York State Route 241 and could conceivably be merged into the same route, though they have not been and there are no plans to do so.
