New York State Route 71 is the state's shortest two-digit route at 2.3 miles. It is located entirely within the town of Hillsdale in Columbia County.
It serves as the continuation of Massachusetts Route 71 from the state line to the hamlet of Green River, where it ends at New York State Route 22.
