New York State Route 62A is a state highway located mostly within the city of Niagara Falls. It is known as Pine Avenue and crosses the city between U.S. Route 62 and New York State Route 104. It runs in a mostly east-west direction even though it is signed as a north-south route.
A number of shields along NY 62A are erroneous U.S. Route 62A shields even though US 62A has never been assigned in New York nor nationally. Additionally, the vast majority of maps, and even city guide signs installed by the city of Niagara Falls, sign the route as US 62A.[2][3]

[edit] Route description
Unlike the two streets that carry US 62 to the south, NY 62A is a two-way street, the first such east-west street accessible from NY 104 heading north from the Rainbow Bridge. Heading east from the intersection of Main Street (NY 104) and Pine Street (NY 62A), NY 62A passes through a largely residential neighborhood, crossing Portage Road, a local north-south arterial, before intersecting New York State Route 61, Hyde Park Blvd., at the southwest tip of Hyde Park. NY 62A makes up the southern border of the park, which runs along the route to its eastern terminus at US 62 on the eastern edge of downtown Niagara Falls.
